Kaarin Kalavus-Collins


Kaarin is passionate about the practical application and proven value applications of BIM and broader digital technology. She has a diverse knowledge of BIM and asset data solutions and proven experience in applying these on various projects in manufacturing, aviation, health care, education, sports and entertainment sectors in the UK and the Middle East.

Kaarin began her BIM career through research in Northumbria University’s BIM Academy. She pioneered standardised BIM object library development for Laing O’Rourke’s Explore Manufacturing pre-cast concrete products. Using the standardised BIM object library, she played a key role in process improvement for engineering, estimating, and pricing. In the Middle East, Kaarin has contributed to the realisation of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™ programme BIM strategy to deliver an open BIM for use across the lifecycle of an asset and has been playing a leading role in delivering Abu Dhabi Midfield Terminal’s digital data strategy for asset and facilities management.

Kaarin has led the development of BIM-enabled quantification capability in the Turner & Townsend Middle East business, and is also managing a regional digital transformation programme for cost management services to enhance the overall offering.
